Here at Fredericksburg Farms, we are located on our family ranch and we have chickens, egg layers. My late husband bought 48 chickens a year ago and they were delivered to the PO via the mail, a cardboard box full of baby chicks. Several things were wrong here…no one needs 48 laying hens. When they are in top form they lay an egg a day. Second problem, my sweetie didn’t leave the list of the people he had promised some chicks to. He did have a plan to give some away, but it had not happened when he left us and got his wings. I have reduced the number in the flock by giving a few hens to a friend, and there were 2 roosters in the lot. (Coq au Vin was delicious.) These hens do a bang-up job of laying eggs and all of our staff can take fresh eggs home as a perk. But, still have too many eggs and chickens…do you need a friendly pet hen…text me!
