Independence Day

Fredericksburg Farms

Can you imagine what it was like on the first fourth of July in 1776? The delegates at the meeting in Philadelphia struggling to decide to declare independence from Britain were fearful for their lives because Britain would see this act as treason, punishable by death. Those delegates set out on a path that has led to where we are today, citizens of a free and independent, prosperous nation. They were farmers, tradesmen, some were aristocrats, some were well educated and some had little education. What they had in common was the courage and convictions to take action and stand up for what they believed to be the greater good. I am ever grateful for their courage and conviction. God Bless America and Happy Fourth of July!
