Today is the first Christmas Day in 44 years that I won’t have my husband bringing me coffee, and building a fire in the fireplace in the den as I turn on the Christmas tree lights and put out special gifts for family to find as they come running in. Today I will make my own coffee, start a fire in the fireplace, and turn on the Christmas tree lights. I will sit with my coffee looking at the fire and the Christmas tree, soaking up the memories of those many Christmases past spent with my sweetheart and soulmate who left his earthly home earlier this year. Soon grandchildren will come running in and we will laugh and be joyful, and I will love every minute as I hold you close in my heart. Merry Christmas Steven!
