Let’s face it…July is just plain hot! It’s time to do some grillin’ and chillin’ by the pool, by the lake, or next to the slip and slide in the backyard. Summertime cookouts can start late in the day to take advantage of the evening cooldown and hopefully a breeze. Here at Fredericksburg Farms we like to grill and chill at our picnic pavilion by the lake (tank) and watch the fireflies come out as dusk comes on. Our favorites are grilled chicken or barbecued ribs, grilled corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes from the garden, and cucumbers and purple onion sliced and chilled in vinegar with w little salt and pepper. Homemade ice cream with some fresh Fredericksburg peaches makes a great ending to the meal. Mmm-mmm good!
